Support tearing up model

Hey guys I’m having some trouble with supports and my prints. I’m using an A1 with a .04 nozzle and basic bambu pla filament.

Once supports come off the connection points look chewed up damaged. I have used the setting off prints that have succeeded but for some reason I can’t get it dialed in. I’m having no issues on support less prints.

I’ve attached photos below thanks so much for any help!!

When you print over supports the material tends to look messy like that, PVA support can help fix this due to having no gap

Good advice! I’m really new to printing and don’t have an ams or anything like that right now, do you have any suggestions to alleviate this problem in the interim?

Try to make a little of the material rely on supports as possible, I would recommend splitting in half and doing tree supports

Just for clarification do you mean like the top z setting be as small as possible or have the print be as small as possible?

Wouldn’t recommend changing z gap otherwise supports won’t come off, what you should probably do is split the model in half, then it will need much less supports
