Support to prevent wobbling

Hi all,
Last print failed, it started to wobble:

how can I add (tree) support to prevent wobbling ?

One idea would be to add a thin disk say 2/3’s the way up your model to force tree support generation.

Another option: did you try manual support painting? :

Note the slicer will not place manual supports on areas that are perpendicular to the build plate even if they are manually painted there.

Or you could just slow it down.

Is this intentional?

It looks like the model is moving over to small an area, keeping the thinning model hot enough to stick to the nozzle. That’d cause wobbling. Printing two of these simultaneously may help (if that is indeed the problem).
But in that case you may want to slow down, reduce jerk higher up.

I have had very limited success adding tree/organic supports to stabilize a vertical surface with OrcaSlicer, and no success at all using Studio.

Model was a tall tube 100 mm high, 4 mm OD, 3 mm ID. Shown here with support on one side, but it worked better with two small “spots” manually painted on opposite sides.

Support x/y distance was reduced to 0.01mm, so the supports did not actually touch the model, but did restrict the wobbling.

I have tried painting other vertical surfaces, but usually no supports are generated.

Same here. I can’t manual add support to a tall object. In my case its a RC Wing.

Welcome to the forum.

There are a couple suggestions of how to add support to vertical models in the thread about. Have you tried them?
