Support wall thickness

In the support section of Bambu Labs does the setting titled “Support Wall Loops” effectively relate to the thickness (i.e. strength) of the support walls? Its default is “0” and its maximum value is “2”. I don’t have AMS and am printing using two filaments (by pausing at a point in the build and changing the filament). My tree supports are relatively long and one of the supports broke at the interface between two filaments. My objective is the strengthen the supports by increasing the wall loops. Will that work?

Did you have a ‘purge’ tower for this?

Purge tower of BBL is not meant for purging existing filament but to prime pressure at nozzle correctly. So that it won’t be a bit of underexstrusion after the manual filament change, at the start of new layer, which also (IMO) causes weak layer bond at the ‘interface’ of support structure.
