Supports Printing in Blocked Support Region

I’m having a problem with my build area. When supports are generated, they end up in the unusable part of the build plate. I tried using a support blocker, but the supports are still being created in that area. Any ideas on how to fix this?

My part is very big and re-orienting does not solve the issue due to the geometry.

check to make sure under “objects” its not custom set for supports

You can edit the printable area to make it full size but you first need to print a small part. Look it up in the wiki.

Can you rotate the model so a corner that doesn’t need supports is in the front left corner?

What do you mean by that? I only used the support blocker specifically for the object. Do you have a screenshot of what you’re talking about?

Theres features on both corners and no matter how I move it relative to that area there seems to always be the base of a support there

Couple options

  • Enable the full printing bed as suggested by @byMH62
  • Paint in support blocker (Select model and use keyboard shortcut “L”)
  • Switch to Regular “Snug” supports so the supports generate in the slot instead of outside from the build plate.
  • Model in your own support structure.

see the red arrows, there you can change specifics per object so one can have supports and one doesnt, usually the orange lock indicates something is changed from the global settings

in this iexample the lid has supports but the can doesnt

this is probably not your problem though as it seems to be one object

you could try changing the spacing of the tree supports so they are created farther apart, for get what setting is called
