Obviously this isn’t consumer technology, but still REALLY, REALLY cool! I wonder if 10-20 years from now if this isn’t something that’s available at the consumer level. Pretty amazing.
Now that US6841116B2 has expired, that’s what I hope to see next in consumer printers.
Same principle as davinci printers.
Hopefully at some point such type of technology will be mainstream and we can be done with individual color rolls, single color filament purging, … for some printing needs at least.
I know the cost of commercial ink printers is very high. This tech would be exponential compared to what you can do on paper. I’d bet these machines are in the $100,000+ range, if not more. Can’t wait for the sub $5,000 prosumer model! xD
