Hey gang! Hope everyone is well. Q.Q… or maybe not… I’m a newbie to 3d printing, as of October of 2024. Sprung for an A1 when the Black Friday sale started, and have been in love with it ever since. I also have an AMS lite. I’ve done a few figural prints, along with some practical stuff, and everything has come out pristine. This Ultraman Tiga, however, has some surface defects that I’d love to diagnose for my education. It came from Bambus selection of excellent community models. I used Inland Silver PLA with the default settings from the file, so nothing fancy, etc. I may have changed the quality setting from standard to fine, with the standard .4 nozzle. Any ideas as to what may have caused these wavy patterns? Thanks so much!
I would love to know too. I have seen the exact same thing on some of my prints since the last update of Bambu Studio.
Good to know I’m not the only person that has encountered this. Especially weird since it seemed to occur in random spots on the print. There always exists, I suppose, the possibility that the source file is to blame. Bad scan, etc, or it’s a filament thing. I’ll try the print again using my tried and true Bambu filament, just for giggles. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a similar experience…
I think that the problem is that your filament’s humidity is big and this makes some problems that aren’t like that, but they’re close, maybe the problem is in the bambu studio and you should change something there.
…My usual response is to try another manufacturers filament, or mess with the lab settings, etc. In this case, I switched over to matte white PLA from Bambu, and presto, change-o, no more weird patterns! I know my “silver” Inland (Microcenters in-house brand) PLA is not being affected by moisture, as it has been working perfectly with other projects, and I’ve not dried it. I’m pretty much a noob at this stuff, so I’m into experimentation big time. Thanks for the response and the great suggestions! Happy Holidays!
