Surface Quality Issues

I have been having some issues with print quality on the surface layers lately. I have tried both with the normal slicer and the softfever fork and get the same issue. Flow rate and pressure advance were calibrated using softfever. Printed using default settings in both slicers.

Any ideas what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Possibly moisture in the filament?

For better top layers I use the Arachne setting over classic

The little pin holes or zits are likely from your seam position being set to random, if you are wanting to hide the seam you’ll need to play with the settings

I’ve found painting the seam in an inconspicuous spot works very well on prints with large and uneven overhangs but there are also more settings you can fiddle with like seam gap and enabling or disabling the role base wipe speed and wipe on loops options

I’ve been using the Soft Fever fork exclusively so I don’t recall if the wipe options are available in regular Bambu Studio but 100% the seam position and Arachne settings are in normal BS settings

So the first thing I would try is Arachne with top and bottom line widths both set to the same layer hight (0.2mm is my most common setting now) and changing the seam position to back with reorientating the part on the build plate to hide the seam or simply paint the seam on manually where it’s not so obvious

If these are things you’ve already tried then it’s likely a filament issue
