Syncing models to MakerWorld China

Hello Makers,

We’ve observed increasing interest within the community regarding how and when your models will be synced to MakerWorld China. We understand your eagerness to showcase your models to a broader audience and greatly appreciate your support.

First, we want to clarify that not all models from MakerWorld Global will be synchronized with MakerWorld China. Here are some types of models that will not appear on MakerWorld China:

  • Shared Models
  • NSFW Models
  • Models that do not comply with Chinese Cyberspace regulations
  • Models with Maker’s Supply BOM lists, which will be synchronized once our Maker’s Supply service is established for MakerWorld China
  • Models set as private or that have been taken down
  • Models flagged as low-quality, such as bulk uploads of similar models

We are gradually syncing all models that meet our criteria. Since all print profiles under eligible models will undergo a slicing procedure to ensure printability, the complete syncing process will take some time.

We appreciate your patience with this issue. Please let us know in the comments if you face any problems with model synchronization and help us in identifying any potential bugs. Thank you!

Just curious why all the English descriptions under my models are deleted, whereas my friend’s English descriptions are kept. I’m fine with it, but having some clarification would be nice.

Hello @MakerWorld,

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I have a quick thought regarding the synchronization process mentioned in the quote above. I have a few models that include marbles from Maker’s Supply in the BOM. While I’ve listed these as Maker’s Supply marbles for the correct size, they are just common marbles that most 3D printing enthusiasts likely have.

To ensure my models can be seen on MakerWorld China, should I remove the Maker’s Supply BOM for now? I’m excited for our friends in China to be able to see and use my models that use marbles and I have some new marble games I’m publishing soon.

Thanks for all your hard work on this!

Best,

I think this explains why a few members here don’t have half or more of their collections showing up. :eyes: :joy:

Well, that explains everything! @MakerWorld, follow up question though as it relates to the BOM stuff. How will it affect it if I update an older model with a BOM from Maker’s Supply? Would it just be better to wait until that all gets implemented on the Makerworld China side before I update any older models that already got synced?

To be honest, would love to see the same filters on makerworld.com

Can these two cleanup procedures: flagging and removing low-quality models, and running a slicing procedure to ensure printability, be done retrospectively* on MakerWorld Global?

*By retrospectively, it means 1) models that are found to be low quality and/or not printable will be removed from the global site; 2) models that are not reviewed during the migration to MakerWorld China will also undergo the same cleanup process at a later date and bad models will be removed from the global site.

These two procedures will do a lot to clean up and improve the quality of MW and the user experience. It’s hard to tell how many low quality models, some of them probably not printable, had been migrated from some other platforms to MW.

Furthermore, apply them to any models linked from other platforms going forward. Also apply to any new model uploads to MW. If the verification takes longer, so be it.

The only thing that bothers me with the sync, and i think someone said the same as me, is that my private models are becoming public in the .com.cn website. We should have the same “power” as in the global without going through loops to create another account to respond to comments or to do changes as needed.

Create a ticket for that so MW knows. Private models shouldn’t be there.

Erm, what is a Shared Model? Does this mean remix?

I put both Maker’s supply entries AND external supply options. Not moving these models doesn’t make any sense.

I have a few clocks available and I have YOUR clock kit listed in the BOM, but, we all know your clock kit has identical parts that Amazon sells so I also list that in the extra box.

At this rate, the Maker’s supply is becoming a hindrance and it seems removing it makes more sense.

I’m probably overlooking something quite simple, but can anyone (or @MakerWorld) provide guidance on the best way to interact with the new audience on MakerWorld China.

So far, it seems I’m only getting notifications regarding my uploads on the Global version, so I have no way to monitor or respond to the new members of my community.

Anyone else had their synced model count reduce
.
Mine was 51 out of 400+ this morning.

Right now it is 34 out of 400+.

The rollout is rolling back?

Same here, number reduced from 13 to 8…

Can Bambu add more syncing? Because I can’t, for example, see the comments from the makerworld China website, and I can’t login onto Makerworld china with my same account.

Obviously my model from Chairman Xi Jinping does not meet the regulations for MW China:
https://makerworld.com/de/models/789101#profileId-727250
It is not replicated to MW CN. Whereas Mao Busts seems to have no problems.
I hope it does not backfire as there was no bad intention from my side.

But it seem no Xi stuff is posted in MW CN (as well in MW global) and the Mao models are not replicated as well. You can only find few Mao models in MW Cn.
Seem we have to accept it.

It was also taken down on the global site.

Your model seem to also be down. I guess the visage of that particular politician is not welcome. Maybe a bust of lovely cartoon bear that loves honey would be more acceptable?

Yes, they took it down. I did not appeal. I guess it makes no sense. I can maybe post it on another platform from Czech Republic.

I hate when you just want to be a normal guy and get pulled into politics.

Is there a way to manually sync profiles to MW China?

When I first uploaded this model there was some sort of bug and it listed only A1 and A1 Mini as compatible. (Surely an A1 Mini profile is always compatible with all printers?). I reuploaded it and that fixed it, it’s now compatible with all printers on the global site. :+1:

I noticed my model got a few boosts from MW China so went and looked and saw a comment asking if there was an X1C version, then I noticed the same profile issue there, only compatible with A1 and A1 Mini
https://makerworld.com.cn/zh/models/661030

It seems only the first profile I uploaded synced, but not the fixed one. Is there a way to force a sync? It’s been 9 days, so I don’t think it will happen automatically now.

Nope. Just ask support to sync it. Not much we can do in relation to the China site besides setting up the sync settings.
