Got my A1 Mini. Notice especially with a new roll of filament that when it starts it rises up pulling filament from the roll, then goes down to print allowing the excess filament to come off the roll and bind on the inside close to the tower. Would a sliding weight help this?
Where would this sliding weight go?
the weight might go between the filament spool and the bowden tube? Allowing the weight to move up and down on the filament keeping the filament taunt? Just an idea.

I use one (can’t remember if it’s this exact model or a similar one) but still have cases where filament slips off of a fresh roll. The design of the spool itself may play a role in this, too.
