Temperature of BED, PLA combined with PETG

some other posts of mine exist related to using RAFT, and PLA as base, and PETG as support material.

Issue - I start with PLA, raft, layer 1. Bed temperature is 50. second layer, the interface layer, is PETG. Bed temperature goes to 70.
Third layer, (first layer of object), and all other layers, are PLA. BUT, BED temperature stays at 70.

CAN THE BED temperature be lowered, at layer 3 of print and above, back to 50, or does it have to remain at 70 because of the PETG at layer 2 on the bed?

If so, what is the gcode for BED temperature, i can insert that in the slicer. but i wanted to get opinion about the materials themselves, if it is possible to change this from 70 to 50, after the PETG is printed.

reason is that for about a 200 layer project, and only one layer of the PETG, the internal box is hotter throughout the whole print, fan runs longer, etc.

any feedback appreciated, thanks

Just set the PETG filament bed temp for the plate you are using to the PLA bed temp. At anything other than the first layer(s), effects are negligible as long as the chamber temp is reasonably stable.

thanks for reply.

just ran a job, textured pei plate; started at 55, layer 1. it switched to 70, layer 2.
i reset it to 55, layer 4 (2nd layer of object).
ran for 33 layers, did ok.
i’ll next test it on my 290 layer project
