Text Shape

Hi,

a simple question about Text Shape:

  • what is thickness used for ?

I mean as far as I understood, it is how many “mm” it has about the surface on which the text is placed on.

But If I want a text to be leveled with surface where text is placed on, I must set text shape as modifier, set embedded depth to 1mm (e.g.) and can I set text shape thickness to 0mm ?

thx

Same type of issue here I think. I make bespoke items and want to be able to add personalisation to items after importing them to studio. I need to get the text level with the top surface so that I can flip the whole thing and print it face down. I can do it but it’s a lot of fiddling about raising and lowering the text till print preview shows it prints a part of the main item on first row.
I was wondering if there may be a way of telling the text to be the same level as the top surface prior to flipping? If not wouldn’t this be handy to be able to click a sync height or sync top layer height?
Or is it already there but I’ve missed it?

I’m not sure what you mean. Any object set to 0mm will be ignored by the slicer algorithm.
