I really like this one…

Advanced cut with connectors #1033 #1057

This feature enables users to print large or intricate models on smaller build plates or with reduced support structures. Users can create and customize connectors that perfectly fit the separated parts, ensuring precise alignment and enhanced structural integrity.

Even little ones are a pleasure like :

  • the humidity icon
  • the mouse zooming at mouse position
  • the external spool
  • the remember of last print settings (auto flow/bed levelling…)

I’m on a Windows PC, so which one should I download?

Anyone know how quick Orca Slicer usually updates their software after a new release?

I would d/l the exe file. No mucking around with unzipping!

Thanks! Looks like it’s dinner in front of the computer again tonight.

I can confirm, at least in the software, the connectors work really well. Definitely trying this out when I get home.

OK so the Height Range Modifier is in and appears to work, but the results are not saved in the 3mf file as best I can tell.

I like this ā€œSinking and only slice model Part above hot bedā€ feature.

Tried this feature out on a part too large for the bed. Its easy to use & saved me from having to cut it & add the connectors in cad software. Huge timesaver.

How do I access the ā€œSupport ext spool for X1C/X1ā€ feature?

Hmm, since installing yesterday, I’m getting all kinds of connect failures. Studio won’t recognize the printer on startup, drops connections during a print session. Downloading print jobs, they either fail immediately, or they claim to have worked, it switches to the dev panel, but the print job never starts on the printer. I have to go start it manually. Didn’t see this with the prior release. Of course, this could be more issues with their very poor cloud functionality.

Same here, first print was fine but subsequent prints couldn’t recognize the printer for a network send. I had kept the 1.5 on another PC and it was fine. I think rebooting helped the beta version, but it was annoying that it dropped the printer and couldn’t pick it back up.

Grab the zip to avoid corrupted .exe install or virus-ā– ā– ā– ā– .
Check the zip files sum-check and if all is good, unpack & install

No difference. Connection still is totally flaky. Again, this did not happen with the prior release. Not only does it show the printer as offline when it isn’t, once it finally does manage to connect, downloads to the printer fail almost immediately with ā€˜Check the status of current system’. And, this is after it claims to actually be connected.

Ah, maybe found the issue. I have a sophisticated hardware firewall, a SonicWall TZ370. It does many checks, including deep packet inspection of SSL etc. It has started blocking packets, it doesn’t like the server handshake from Bambu. I added an exclusion (which makes me a bit nervous), now connects. Not sure what Bambu changed, something on the server transport side.

yea its seem so, but am really disappointed after orca 1.5.0 when they removed build plate names from the bed and show only a bambu lab. At least they fixed the name of the plate which was huge. So am still in version 1.5 and works really nice.

Hi guys, thanks for adding the connections when cutting objects. please could you work on this though? adding easier way to do connections like dado or even just a cutout on one side and a shape that fits into that on the other so that the two pieced can just slide into eachother (like a dovetail)?
