Hey, would like to ask for your opinion here. Usually, we talk about the models getting stolen or reuploaded somewhere else and we learned how to deal with this kind of situation. This one is different, while the user decided to create his own model - he actually copied the description of my model 1:1 :rofl:.

I filed a copyright claim on my description only, and asked that he please write his own description - but yeah never seen that and would like to know what you think? :sweat_smile:

That’s a very interesting case.
I read both descriptions simultaneously and I love it when a new paragraph begins and there is only one sentence which suddenly ends: “The bottom piece is best secured with some glue” - don’t know why it made me laugh :laughing:

Haha, had the same - I am not even mad. I am not even sure why he copied it the first place. The model is clearly inspired by mine, and I feel honored about this - but why did he copy also the passages that are not relevant for his model?

My feeling is more a “But… why?”
It´s good that i am not the only one that thinks he should change the description.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that he is probably not a native English speaker and he doesn’t know the language very well. I remember some of his models and this could be deduced from the descriptions.

That was my first thought as well, probably a non-native English speaker. However looking at these models, wouldn’t this new model fall into the ‘remix’ category? As it seems like they trimmed your model down and changed a couple of the corners.

And if it indeed falls into the remix category, should it even exist? Your license is the standard license meaning remixes are not allowed.

He only incorporated the way it´s assembled to save filament and to create the look. I do not think it´s a remix, but clearly inspired - i am totally fine with that. That´s why i only wanted to talk about the description - that’s a copy :rofl:.
