Because you posted above that you were gonna change it.
Just my 2 cents.
It seems you have troubles with your filament and IF your p1s are working with AMS but the A line struggles with or without AMSlite there is a common point (and one of the most underestimated cause of clogs): fiber dust.
AMS protects your filament while the A serie doesn’t. If fibrous particles gets to your filaments they start accumulating at the nozzle.
I don’t like Bambus in general, I consider them wrong purchases but still work fine. I use mainly Polymaker Polyterra PLA and 0.4 nozzles without any issue, but my production units are always Vorons.
Where?
I said that
I suggested the OP change it. Where did I say I was going to change it.
It is also worth noting a recent change occurred on the forum that removed title editing from everyone with the elevated trust level of Regular. I couldn’t have changed it if I wanted to.
When I was able to change titles, I edited them for typos not context changes.
I’m gonna guess you’re frustrated and not really thinking this trough, but going off that frustration.
As has been pointed out, the OP did get help from BL and from us. The OP was proactive in the solution here and seems to be a pretty good guy.
We get someone is frustrated most times when they come here for help and that’s ok. I have been frustrated myself a few times. We (the forum) will do our best if we can to help sort it out. We will also suggest putting a ticket in to Support as well.
These machines aren’t prefect. Support isn’t perfect. However there’s so much involved with 3d printing that is a variable it’s not always the machines fault. OP discovered the enviorment around his printers and that the A1 being open air behaves differently than the P1/X1 series.
CRracer712 put it bluntly. Read the whole thread when here. Often times the solution or a clue is further down. Skimming isn’t an option when looking for a solution.
For Support I’ll offer some tips to get quicker and more precise help.
Before you put in a ticket, calm yo’self. Go touch grass, do a rain dance, pick your nose, whatever you need to do to cool your jets. You will catch more bees with honey.
-
- Provide a professional statement of what the problem is. Don’t let emotion seep into your description. It doesn’t help. Support knows you’re frustrated or irritated. No need to tell them or let it color the problem.
-
- Take pics of the problem before they ask. Include these when you open the ticket. Video is very helpful as well.
-
- Tell support how the problem arises, how it can be replicated. They do wish to help. Give them a head start.
-
- Remember there may be a language difference. Things translate funny and misunderstandings happen. Minimize that as much as possible by being clear and concise.
-
- Be patient. There’s often a time difference between when support is working and when you’re working. You have to allow for that. If you’ve followed the above you will considerably cut down the time it takes to solve your issue.
-
- Help yourself. Come to a forum, reddit, youtube. Look for an answer even though you’ve put in a ticket.
A guy named Richard failed to do all these things and was very unhappy. He ended up being rude and no one liked him. Don’t be Dick.
So share your problem, follow my advice or don’t. If you want help though, it may be a good start.
Shocking. Another account that hasn’t posted in forever, if ever, that has massive issues after buying a ton of printers for some reason. No rational person would buy more of something they’re having a problem with in an effort to fix said problem. What a joke.
Obvious troll thread. If not, I don’t think it’s a printer problem, it’s a person problem. There’s so many folks that have zero experience with 3d printing that are able to have their machines work flawlessly right out of the box.
That’s what I thought. I had prints that looked like this and they made a dragging sound (keeps haunting me at night).
Easy way to rule this one out: when the print head is cold, try to wiggle it by the tip. Mine had a couple millimeters of slack despite being clamp normally.
Good luck.
I printed 28,000 face shields of COVID and only ran about 80,kg of sunlu. Polymaker, and overture are the only filaments I use now.
If I use cheap filament I use uncolored. Anyone in their basement can make a half decent spool of uncolored petg. Look for “natural,” as the color petg is clear abs and asa are off-white. Pla is ???. Whatever, just don’t be surprised if sunlu doesn’t print great.
More obviously your z height is not set correctly…
PTEG sticking to the plat elike that isn’t a printer issue… it’s a known issue using PTEG and the textured plate. Use water-based glue as a release agent and you won’t ever need to worry abou that again.
As for clogged nozzles…are you using any special filaments?
Because mosty people get a LONG LONG time out of Bambu nozzles.
Sounds more like user error than it does faulty printers. There are 1000’s of people out there using these printers flawlessly. So the fact that you have so many, and each one has the same issue, I’d say it’s you and your setting/setup
@JonRaymond
Can we close this thread. Poor OP has his solution and people keep piling on without reading the thread. I don’t think anything new will be added.
Does anyone else?
Well, but you see, I’ve got opinions, and no time to read!
Actually, I read it all and I’m rather pleased because what the issue I suspected it would have been, I think it was. Not sure if OP fully confirmed it though? Other than sounds like things were on the up swing, which is great. I even saw where OP was like “hmm, maybe the problem is something I’m doing”. Brilliant. Bravo. I never saw that twist coming, and I applaud the blunt honesty of one’s self.
Uh oh, I’m part of the problem now.
But is that “new”?
My point is people piling on telling him how he’s wrong etc. It’s not constructive, especially after he did take steps to fix it and acknowledge the may have been wrong.
It’s just like the troll thread about the A1. OP said he’s getting rid of it and dozens of people who don’t post or have never posted putting themselves up for the printer.
It’s fun and games until it get’s to be just “gimmie” or “OP is stoooopid”.
The main problem I see is that these DISGRACE, DISASTER and DONE FOREVER threads suck in a lot of users that would participate in more useful discussions otherwise.
hi. I have bambulab A1 wihout ams for a month (200ish hours) and had minimal failliure. i also hought 0,2mm nozzle for extra detiails for business prints (i have farm of 2 printers , prusa and bambu) and i can tell you a1 hotent really doesnt like exotic /lower quality filament , i ordered jayo (rebranded sunulu, we will see but i think it will be fine) had pretty horrible experience with filament pm and some Esun filaments, its pretty picky with filament i think, im also lowering the tempatures of the filament to 215-210 on pla, pla+ .
So far my biggest issues with A1 are overhangs and material not sticking to the build plate. but what from i real time will tell.
Dont forget to do all calibrations (flow dynamics and flowrate)
wish you luck , so far i had good experience with A1 way better than prusa out of box experience
I bought the A1 for my son‘s 13th birthday. Our first machine there was a heat bed failure so we sent it back and they sent us the new one. They were pretty responsive and they sent the new one out pretty quickly. But now on the second machine, before we can even print anything I have a Z axis motor failure, and an A motor failure. I feel like I cannot catch a break with these things. And I’m not comfortable enough with my skills to disassemble and or repair it on my own as I don’t have a lot of electronics experience. I’m seriously frustrated and curious if I ought to move to a different company. I just wanted a cool gift for his 13th birthday.
That print pattern (with the wavy defect) reminds me of an issue I had. It turned out this support article fixed it (tl;dr there was a screw loose behind the heater assembly - this is not visible until you disassemble as shown in article - easy fix): https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/troubleshooting/print-issues-troubleshooting
A1 is my first and has been a dream of a machine with little maintenance.
it’s not just you I’m pulling my hair out here too and seem to be having simlar issues
assume much?? You think the rest of us haven’t had problems? My X1C w/ AMS is the least reliable printer I own - its now designated to being a overflow printer for when all my other ones are busy.
You are the exception, not the norm.
Nothing assumed about it. Literally thousands here who would swear by their machines and are happy with them.
Don’t come at me with an attitude just because you disagree.
you mean the board with 1000s of users that haven’t had problems are biased?
Please tell me where I said no one has problems. Perhaps the assumptions are on the other end?
