Yesterday I received the A1 Mini. Why does it keep asking me if I want to update the firmware and then it always stops at 25% and then starts again?
Perhaps a wifi problem, try to put it nearer the router ?
Hi. It is 1 mt from router.Go ahead to 25% , turn display off, and relight.
I also had problems with the update at the beginning. But then I took an empty SDHC card (formatted as Fat32) and the update worked. So try using another empty SD card.
But the firmware resides into Sd card? I thought was in a internal rom
Thanks @bheine91 – switching SD cards did the trick for me.
If I’ve got this right:
- The printer downloads the firmware to the SD card
- The SD card that comes with the printer doesn’t have enough free space to store the firmware image
- Once the firmware is fully downloaded, it is read from the SD card, and written to internal storage
Quirky out-of-the-box experience, but it’s not too hard to work around at least.
Yes its true. I will try thanks
It’s scary the software/firmware has that poor error handling. It should obviously notify user of a full SD card (or any other write errors) instead of just rebooting. With that in place, it should also not even start a download that will not fit. It should inform user there’s too little space available. With so basic and trivial things missing one has to wonder what else they don’t check. No wonder people report tool heads smashing into walls.
Resolved. I bought a new SD card, but nothing to do, it always stopped at 25%. The problem was the router. I connected with my mobile phone (enabling WiFI router) and the update was successful. Thanks everyone for the advice.
But still this printer looks much better than the rest of competition. Besides printer didn’t brick itself, didn’t it? So it really doesn’t matter and probably will be patched in next updates. Overall performance is great and all the features of slicer.
WTH has the LOOKS got to do with it? Of course it matters and rest assured they can’t fix anything if we’re not revealing problems so they can know about it.
I too love my printer but I’m not a fanboy. There are plenty things to improve, so that it becomes even more ahead of any competition.
Whatever They know about it already. It would be scary if they had to accept a ton of warranty repairs because of it but I think situation is ok for a preorder machine.
What do you mean exactly? Are you saying to just go on your phone and update the printer from the Bambu Handy app? If so I tried that and it doesn’t work for me; still nothing after 25%.
No. I mean that you have to connect throught your wifi phone and not with your home router.
Ah ok, I connected to my phone’s hotspot and it finally made it past 25% and completed. Thank you very much.
I’m happy to have helped you.
