I am facing the same problem after the first day of use. It printed fine for several hours prior to this and the problem only came up AFTER I updated the firmware.
My bet is on the firmware…. ![]()
I’m having the same issue… Seems to only happen after printing something in ABS, PETG, PA and the chamber is hot. It was happening before and after the firmware update, so I don’t think it’s the firmware in my case.
I unplugged the cooling fan and plugged it back in and it appears to be working fine now. For anyone else with this issue, that’s probably a good starting point.
Yep, the same issue here, after 32h it started to be very noisy, so i would expect that ot will die soon. Already sent me a replacement
Mine failed on the second day with less than 20 hours of printing. Same error for the right hotend fan. Not running at all. Reseat the cable with no results. I have send an email to the local distributor and tomorrow i will visit them to find a solution.
So with only 29 hours on my new X2D I started getting this error after swapping to 0.2mm nozzles for an important customer order I have to get out.

That the problem is because the magnet in the hotend interfers with the DC fan motor and causes it to send weird readings….. the right hotend fan only comes on when its decended into the active position…. but it does work and spin up like it should… but the firmware is seeing bad data because of the hotend magnet.
This is an engineering failure on Bambu’s part they they NEED to fix. Perhaps different DC fan motors that aren’t so sensitive to the magnetic field created by the hotend…. perhaps better sheilding of the motor… perhaps a firmware update to compensate for the reading anomoly? something needs to be done.
Isn’t that just referring to 3rd party hotends, and not original BL?
old thread but forgot to follow up, I started getting the error again and replacing fan resolved. Not sure if it was fan, plug or simply just act of reinstalling or what but didn’t want to chance and replaced fan as it’s a B to work on the toolhead.
Well, apparantly it happens with genuine Bambu hotends too… a magnet is a magnet, and its proximity tot he DC motor is going to have an impact regardless of who makes the fan.
I know this is a X2D thread but googling this issue with “H2D” at the end led me here (I have an H2D). Got this same error on my H2D and it was after printing something in ABS where the chamber heated up to 65. Only 28hrs of printing on it and first ABS out of just 1 nozzle. Took the toolhead apart to check the connection and was ok.
Checking into replacing the actual hotend fan and it’s basically a heck of a job..
The job I was sending was for a dual nozzle, dual AMS job.
Decided to send a different previous PLA job to the printer and oddly enough it started to work so I stopped and sent the dual nozzle job and…. it started without issues.
I did do a firmware update to a AMS HT and AMS 1 earlier today but the H2D has been on same firmware.
Maybe me messing with it allowed it to cool off, not too sure. I’ve only had a printer for about a month, got it at Best Buy.
Kind of afraid to try another ABS job if that’s going to be an issue….
Most probably when it get really hot as 65C something start to fail then when cool down it recovers.
But better break it early and replace the fan while experimenting, then later to fail in some long print job. Did you have ticket with BL?
I opened a ticket with them.
Printer is under warranty since just under a month old. Wondering what they’ll say if that fan needs a replacement.. I could follow those instructions but the position of the printer and having to work on the backside of the toolhead makes things quite challenging.. Don’t have another person to help me even move it from where it’s at and it’s close to the wall..
Maybe better I put my head inside upside down through the door to do the work. ![]()
Wish I had better advice other than don’t work on it if printer is sitting high against a wall.
if you do have to work on it, disconnect everything, remove the top glass plate and I also removed the front glass door (just the 4 screws in front holding door to hinges and it comes off easy (be careful not to lose the screws or the rubber grommets). Once those are removed, the thing becomes so easy and light to move around. Put it on table/floor and with no front door or top glass to worry about and full access to toolhead, much easier to work on it. Much easier. You don’t have to worry about pushing on the glass door, dripping a tool on the edge or knocking it some other way.
