I’ve gotten this error continuously on my 1 day old X2D. EDIT: It’s all I get, I can’t do anything with chamber heated because this error won’t stop. Seem to only happen when chamber is hot…40+.
Half day old X2D. During filament tuning (PETG) I got this error a couple of times and also during attempt to print ABS.
The hotend cooling fan speed is abnormal [0300-0300-0001-0001 115122].
When I go further into Trouble Shooting assistant it states:
The right hotend cooling fan speed is too slow or stopped. The fan may be stuck or the connector may not be plugged in properly.
Here’s the thing.. I’m not using the right hotend. Only the left, first time it popped up I was calibrating PETG filament so it got warm in there, not hot but around 42C…. I walk over and the right fan is working just fine (even though right side not being used). Thought it be a fluke and carried on.
Then on attempt to print ABS, chamber heated to 55C and voila what do you know… throws the same error and AGAIN the right hotend fan is blasting away and does not stop to any minor resistance (barely touching it).
Anyone else have this happen to them? I see lot of older posts re H2D and prior X1C but nothing on X2D…..
Half day old printer, I don’t want to start disassembling the toolhead when I know the fans are working.
Trying to get some clarity… I’ve tested printing with the right AUX nozzle, up to 250C and it seems to be working fine… maybe because hotend fan is now running full speed? Clearly the fan is working…..
Anyone have any ideas? If not, it’s going back.

The hotend cooling fan on my H2D has broken down so many times it’s not funny anymore.
But before, detach and reattach the current one.
Agh, how is this still an issue on similar dual nozzle setup?
When I did my initial searching, there were quite a few posts regarding this very error. Anything from making sure it’s plugged in, finding glue on the little fan’s hub from factory to straight replacing the fans. Often for error to return.
Agh, I have 14 days return, if no solution or answers, it’s just gonna drop it back off. Maybe the novelty will wear off by then. The main reason I got it was to use as special materials printing where chamfer is heated and it fails EVERY time so haven’t even been able to test anything .
If I use aux nozzle to print with cooler chamber it’s fine.
I still think it’s how the fan reacts to heat and hot air when not fully used or is spinning at low rpm because left is being used primarily I think the low rpm of the right fan fluctuate and it throws the software off…… or the fan is toast from factory
Sounds like one of the hotend fans was DOA to begin with. I’ve had the same errors on H2 machines and the fan still worked and another 30hr print, it was locked up.
I know it sucks as a brand new printer, but you have to ask yourself is it worth boxing it all back up and returning it or just replacing the fan (if that’s what the issue is).
On the X2D the fans look really easy. Mounted with a couple screws behind the front cover on each side and the rear cover has both connectors for the fans.
Totally up to you, but you could also swap the fan side to side and see if the error swapped sides as well. Then you would know for sure if it was the fan or potentially the board is the problem. I’m betting the fan is just junk and it slipped by QA. I woudn’t return it for that. They are pretty phenomenal machines.
If it is a defect, I’d probably just take printer and empty box and take it back to Best Buy…. They can figure out what to do with both.
either way, no disassembly will be be performed by me on a new printer if some component is defective, its defective product. I’ll see how it pans out.
the prints I could get out, A riser for top plate out of PETG, low chamber temp, no errors, was not that impressive at all and I printed at much more conservative settings.
I printed the corners with the U1 and I use the x2D for the center pieces the U1 corners look great and similar to what the P2S produced when I printed its riser… so not sure what is going on but so far X2D is worse than both the P2S and U1. It might be phenomenal but it’s not off to a great start.
I was just curious if it’s a bug because it pertains on how the right fan is doing when I’m printing with left hotend only and don’t even have right one loaded.
Ahh.. Best Buy makes it easier then. I assumed it was shipped to you from Bambu etc.
They did just release a firmware update for it yesterday afternoon. Maybe try updating that and see if it goes away?
Sadly did not help. It was was the first thing I did after update. Longggg update. I honestly thought that it might actually fix it because several time during update the fans would go full blast as if it was calibrating or acquiring max RPM data to them use on forward to better control fan speeds. But immediately after updating, rebooting, loaded up the PA calibration for my ABS filament which heats chamber to 55C. As soon as crossed certain temp threshold, error came up. I look, fan is working or appears to be. BUT it does seem it spins slower than the primary left nozzle fan….i just assumed it was because right one didn’t need to spin as fast as the left one as right nozzle is idle and kid speed just needs to deal with the secondary heat that left hotend is blowing into right one.
I do know for fact fan is spinning and never stops, I think it all has to do with speed of the fan, which can fluctuate based on pressure . Either hot air or the the other fan blasting hot air onto aux hotend and triggering aux to turn on but it is having back pressure due to nozzle being Parker higher.
I loaded up PLA on right nozzle and it works fine but now I think about it, PLA prints low temp, and chamber was low temp. What I need to do is load petg in aux nozzle and see if the hotend fan can deal with higher bed, nozzle and chamber temps. If it can then it has to be something while it’s parked high just my theory
If I get errors I think it’s confirm fault fan, board or both.
Time to return it looks like! I have no idea how you found one at Best Buy.. Every time I’ve looked it said unavailable, let alone for sale lol. Have you checked to see if they have one they can exhange at the same day?
I print only in high temp stuff and just looked.., even only using one nozzle both hotend fans are going at it. I can’t really tell their speed or if one is slower than the other, just that they are both on.
So yours having one slower than the other that you can physically see must not be good haha.
I can see it just from the reflection from the light, both definitely were not at same speed. Are yours more or less same speed?
Best Buy availability is on and off. Right now it’s a week wait so not bad. These higher demands usually only have a rush in beginning but stabilize quickly. Same with P2S, rush first couple weeks then always in stock. 3d printing is not a huge community, and even in that not many are looking to spend $1000 (why the A series is their most popular and most sold printer). So even if I have to return and wait for replacement, won’t be waiting long.
You know what’s funny when I went to pickup mine. The one reserved to me was the one with the worst box condition . Lol. Corner rounded over from either dropping or keeping the box tipped on corner, side of box had outer layer of cardboard stripped. etc and of course had to be that one. Others were like pristine boxes but already other peoples order info on them lol
As best as I can tell, they both look the same, but the print head is moving so fast (bed filled with complex tiny parts at the moment) that they could be different and I wouldn’t notice.
I just know they are going so fast you can’t really see the blades at all on both ends.
I’ve got 3 more coming from Bambu…, looks to be delivering tomorrow. I would have gone to Best Buy etc., and picked them up as there’s 3 stores in like a 50 mile radius but they all said unavailable and the dude on the phone basically laughed when I asked lol.
might be location depending. If I order one now I’ll have it in 5 days from BB. I might just do that and just return this one. I have low faith in it tbh and the quality issue could stem from same issue. As if It was struggling to cool the hotend heatsink, possible heat creap and runaway thermals leading to part cooling fan doing little. Maybe both fans need to blow to intersect and guide air out instead blowing hot air into each other. Since my right can can’t maintain speed, left could be struggling to keep hotend cool, leading to issues I saw. It was ann overnight print and I barely glanced at it before I had to leave and it looked like doodoo so I just left lol.
Im just shooting stuff in the dark at this point, Even if there was a workaround, I no longer trust this particular machine to be a worry free one like my P2S or even my U1.
Yeah.., I’d say the quality part has to be because of that fan. I’ve basically filled the entire beds with stuff I do on the H2C’s and D’s (albeit less parts) and quality, finish, and dimensional accuracy is literally the exact same between them all. It’s been running 24/7 since Saturday. I’m really liking these things!
I just placed another order. I got few more days to figure out if it’s just a bug otherwise I’ll just take it back and wait for that one.
Just from conversing with you the pickup date went from may 1 to may 14 lol. Oh well. I’m not in a rush as long as it’s a Fully working unit.
I guess I’m not the only one with this issue with a brand new printer as well. I think I’m going to be taking it back to Microcenter let them deal with it. Support is no help at all.
Does yours appear random or are you able to duplicate as well with the heated chamber?
For me, I can duplicate all day long. All I have to do is print ABS with the left nozzle.
I’m also printing ABS, but it happens after I pause the print. Funny thing is I have another X2D doing same print, but doesn’t have any issues at all with it.
My problem is that it prints 31 out of 35 layers with no issue, once the pause is issued and I place magnets, it starts again and then quits.
it comes with hardened steel nozzles I believe, which are magnetic and one of the issues people have with magnetic nozzles is magnets getting pulled up…That could be happening?
one solution is to make the magnet recess under size so you have press them in.
Other is to get set of stainless steel nozzles.
I could see that being the problem if it happened on both the X2D’s that I have, but it only happens on one, additionally I’ve been running the same workload on my other 2 P1S with also hardened steel nozzles for months now and no issues with them either. Bambu states that it is the fan that maybe defective, and are asking to repeat the same steps I’ve already done which is to disassemble the cover and reset the fan plug. I took it off the rack and placed it in a room by itself to ensure that it wasn’t a temperature getting too high inside the chamber but it still shows the same error at the same print layer, right after the pause command. So at this point I think I just got a bad unit and I will be returning it, I’m not taking chances of it failing over and over again for no reason, specially when it is brand new.
