The MC module is malfunctioning

Yesterday I got the follwoing error.

HMS_0500_0300_0001_0001: The MC module is malfunctioning. Please restart the device

After restarting, the message was gone, but the printer could not recognize the connected AMS, and the heating bed or nozzle was not working. Also, no current temperatures of the bed and nozzle are shown.

From Wiki I found that I should check comunication between AP and MC, but there was no description how i can check it. The MC board is out of stock in shop too.

I printed without a SD card so i cant get logs from the printer and without logs i cant open a ticket :frowning: Thatrs why i hope i can get some help from the community

You can submit a ticket without logs. There’s a cable that runs from the MC to the toolhead, comes through the cable chain. I’d just check to see if any damage to the inuslation of that cable has happened and both ends are seated.

I would (and maybe shouldn’t) assume that support would have access to a board and you could get it through warranty or just going through them. To get faster service take pics of the error and anything else relevant. In the ticket take the time to explain all the troubleshooting you’ve done and be clear. The language barrier can be a hurdle. Like I’ve said though, you don’t need a log. When I screwed up my AC board the sd wouldn’t work, they sorted it out because I used the same method to explain to them.

Good luck.

No attach log files is mandatory for a ticket in these category. But i got a SD card and could export the logs to open the ticket now.

The module is only out of stock in europe, so i hope the support can send me one from a different location.

I have the exact same problem and I only have 4 hours of usage on the machine. I dont have AMS, but i got the toolhead and MC board malfunctioning message. I did start checking around, cant see any damage on any cables. The AP board is receiving power as the screen, camera is working and so does the wall light. So power seems to go through the MC board as it should. But i found out there is supposed to be a light that blinks every 5 second on the MC board, which is not blinking for me. But the power lights are on/blinking as they should on other electronic chips in the machine. The toolhead is also receiving power as the lights on it do turn on.
I have sent a ticket to the support so im awaiting an answer from them, but if anyone has any idea for a potential fix then that would be much appreciated. But i presume both me and you Manaix needs to replace the whole MC board. Did you by any chance get a reply for them and get it fixed?

Okay so I unmounted the MC card and checked the backside of it, some of the circuits was completely fried. So definitely needed to be replaced. I presume this was the same for you Mananix?

I think I have the same exact problem. I submitted the ticket, did the Wiki to check if anything is loose. The MC Board light is the only one not flashing.

did basically everything stop working for you guys? trying to decide if this is my issue - i hadnt used my printer in a few months and now it wont move, heat up, update etc
