I’d like to know the actual costs involved in cashing out points in euros, and I could use some help from people who’ve already done this.
- The system uses PayPal, so you have to pay extra for the currency conversion because it always uses the worst exchange rate. Including a processing fee.
- Bambu says they also charge a tax: “calculate applicable VAT”
Of course, we all know that cashing out is less favourable than using the points, but unfortunately, I never see the calculation to euros in most cases. The problem is, I have to convert it to euros so I can use PayPal to make a purchase at a European online store, again.
- To sum it up, can we already say that it probably isn’t worth it?
So, as I said, here’s the question: Has anyone done this before and can at least tell me how much VAT/TAX Bambu charges when converting the points to dollars for Europeans? Are there any hidden fees, like when the money is deposited from Bambu into your PayPal account? And I don’t mean the conversion fees, they’re obvious.
It would be enough for me if someone could just check and provide the how much in fees were charged when an European country was selected when converting points to dollar.
