So it happened. The legendary Bambu Lab X1, X1 Carbon and X1E 3D printers entered a well-earned retirement.
On March 31, 2026, they officially reached their end-of-life (EOL) - and will no longer be manufactured.
However, users have nothing to worry about! Spare parts and technical support will remain available for another five years, until 2031.
X1, X1C and X1E EOL dates to remember:
End of manufacturing and active sales = 2026-03-31
Software & firmware bug fixes and feature updates = 2027-05-31
Software & firmware security patches = 2029-05-31
End of spare parts supply and support = 2031-03-31
Five years of support from the EOL date - that’s one of many new standards Bambu Lab introduced to the industry. It gives the X-series a total product lifecycle approaching a decade.
Although direct e-commerce sales were halted some time ago, selected authorized distributors may still have X1, X1C and X1E units in stock - covered by full warranty and support. If you’re looking for a brand-new unit, check with local Bambu Lab partners before the last ones disappear.

Before the 2027 feature update EOL, if you can manage to squeeze in a couple of firmware updates for my X1C like the automatic chamber light turn off and the cold pull feature like I have on my H2C that would be great
The turnover rate for 3D printing is rather high, as devices evolve quickly.
15 years ago we had Reprap, Solidoodle, and Makerbot cupcakes… which nobody in their right mind is going to support these days.
15 years isn’t long at all. That’s very short. It’s such a shame we live in a throwaway society. Doesn’t Bambu Labs care about the environment? Don’t they have a responsibility as a company? My 3D printer was also very expensive, unfortunately, so I can’t just throw it away after 15 years.
In terms of 3D printers, 15 years is about 10 generations.
Think of it like computers: 15 years went from Apple 1 to the 486-33 running Windows 3.
I mean, most people don’t even keep cars for 15 years.
You will almost certainly want to upgrade your 3D printer after 5 years, maybe less.
You installed third party software, because the manufacturer no longer provides support, or repair parts.
BTW - the battery in that model is unsafe after 8 years or so. iFixIt has some replacements still in stock.
Mine, and couple friends machines, swelled or died within a year or so of one another. I replaced the battery, others upgraded. But it’s old enough that repair parts won’t be available too much longer.
Bambu Lab has been reliable, but long-term support is critical. After my experience with Flashforge’s lack of support after only two years, I believe it is essential for Bambu Lab to guarantee at least 15 years of spare parts availability from the date the final unit of a model is sold. This commitment would provide much-needed confidence for professional users.
