Sometimes i think that many people don’t really read.
LAN mode will need “authorization”. Why if it’s in lan mode and out of reach of Bambu control? Isn’t why lan mode is used after all?
Home Assistant will work only as “view mode” and not able to control the printer basic functions. Yet they announced some time last year that they were working with HA on it.
Panda touch will not be useful anymore. Can’t send commands like stop, print, reprint, slow down, speed control, temperature, etc. It doesn’t matter right?
It’s all about their cloud, nothing more. Some people like the Apple approach and i get it. I hate it. It’s trash, it’s expensive and it only serves a purpose, that is to make you believe that there is no turning back.
Bambu printers are great. Their business model and decisions not so much. It’s not about having a “middle man software”, it’s about using my hardware under my conditions. It’s paid, it’s mine. Should we forget that when they had problems with their cloud servers our printers were almost unusable? People tend to forget and i see that in the forum.
Remember the disaster with the 2023 sale and what they promised? Remember the sale in 2024 where they did cover their face until they were pushed to the limit? That was 1 month ago… some people are still not getting what they paid for and yet, here we are, with another “cover my face” scheme.
I advise people to carefully read the FAQ and see why this is a step back instead of one forward. They are clearly transparent with their answers there and they say exactly what you can and what you can’t do. The only benefit is for them only, not the user.
My 2 cents, for what they are worth…
