Timed start for 3d prints

Hello, I have p1s and p2s printers and i wondered if it was possible to have them start on a timer of some sort, I am about to buy solar panels for my home and i am keen to find a way to have them start automatically in the morning while i am still asleep. Is this possible?

With the standard Bambu Studio install this isn’t possible but there are other options such as BamBuddy or I think you can also do this with Bambu’s Farm manager both of which I have linked below.

You can use gcode start code block to add in some delay. If its midnight now and you want it started at 9 you can add this to the first line of your start gcode to delay by 9 hours, then just print now. Don’t save this to your config, or itll happen on every print

edit: uh oh nvm, Jon is right, see below. There may be other gcode solutions, but the injection vector is probably still right here

From a power use perspective, steppers will be energized but no heaters will be running. Depending on your printer, fans might be. So more than idle but not nearly during print.

A more mature solution probably looks like homeassistant monitoring your inverter and enabling a smart plug, and issuing a command to bambu farm / bambuddy.

FYI Bambu’s max G4 is 90 seconds. You can get around by adding multiples.
