I have two X1C with 2 AMS each. The newest printer has been fine but my older one has run into a bunch of issues.
I was getting a message “please pull out the filament on the external spool hold…”, even through I havent used the external spool. I unplugged everything to make sure nothing was stuck, then rebooted.
Then I got a message that my hotend is clogged so I changed it out with a brand new one, keep getting the same message so I rebooted again.
Now I am getting a message that the AMS failed to spend out Filament. You can clip the end…
I took apart my AMS to check all the tubs, nothing was broken. I tried a different slot, same message.
This is what I am doing.
- on AMS menu, select the spool, edit, then load
- The arm moves around then to the back, display say it is heating up.
- Soon as it moves to the next item (Push new filament into extruder) it flashes the message. Dont even turn the AMS spool.
I am using the 1.09.00.01 firmware
AMS firmware 00.01.06.62 (both)
AMS hub 00.00.00.43
Not sure what I can do next other than try to go back to the last good firmware.
