I’m trying to use PLA as an interface layer on a PETG part. I don’t like how the slicer generates support, so I thought I’d design the support and interface as separate parts and import them into the slicer as a multipart object.
This looks good when I import it, but the problem is that I can’t figure out a way to make the slicer give each part in the multipart object its own top and bottom shells. It’s a continuous infill pattern, just with different material used in the interface layer. I can make the interface layer 100% infill pattern, but the part still has exposed infill where it contacts the interface layer (and I don’t want to make the whole part 100% infill).
I tried importing the parts as a individual objects instead of a multipart object, but the problem with that is that the slicer forces each part to sit on the build plate and I can’t figure out how to make the interface layer sit on top of the support.
Machine is a X1C with AMS.
