So the top belt came off in my X1-C. It is still in one piece, has about 4000 hours on it. How to prevent if from happeneing again
When was the last time you tensioned the belts? Did the pulleys get out of alignment or a piece of debris in them?
4K hours is a good bit, the belts will definitely have relaxed and need retensioning by this point.
If you’ve been adjusting tension along the way and have no more adjustment remaining, it’s time to loosen the tensioners off and reinstall the belts a couple teeth tighter at minimum, or just replace them entirely.
Ok I will check into that, I readjusted every 500-700 hrs
I would look at your belt routing again as there isn’t a foot of belt slack in the printer. Either a bearing axel has failed or the belt has broken. I’ve had a X1C belt fail at 3k hours so you’re deep into “should replace” territory.
