Touchup Paint in Bambu Filament Colors. What do you all think?

Hi Guys …

That darn random piece of filament, or filament strand always finds a way at times to ruin my prints.

I often use black and white filament and am now getting more into more colors and multi-color prints. I have used black and white acrylic paint pens to touch up my prints when needed and it covers imperfections perfectly.

I would love to see Bambu Labs come out with a multi-color paint pack in all of their filament colors.

Sometimes - you just get that random strand that ruins the esthetic of the print. Or you walked away before the first layer goes down and the head wasn’t cleaned 100% and that hanging piece from the nozzle finds it way on the first layer.

I would keep stock in these as it would save wasted time and prints.

Let me know your thoughts or what you may use that already matches perfectly (if applicable)

Thanks

If your careful with a heat gun, low heat, that white color left where you cut off a piece will turn into the color again. I use a it when removing brims or supports sometimes.

Yes that is a great solution.

I that method on black prints - sometimes when they adhere too well and they leave white marks on the first layer when pulling up from the bed - the heat gun makes them disappear and it works perfectly.

However sometimes when doing multicolor prints you get different color strands running into another - if the nozzle is not wiped or sometimes temperature might be too hot etc. it would be great to be able to touch up those colors.

I’ve used correctly colour matched nail polish to touch up prints.

That is a great idea - thanks for your reply.

I just found this site

I will give it a try and report back, unless you have other ideas.

I was thinking about getting a 3d pen for this. Seems legit.

I have some paint pens, I used those until I realized the heat gun would work.

This is exactly what I am talking about - can someone please explain what extra steps I need to perform to avoid this from happening?. I was printing Black PETG first and then switched to yellow. I thought enough filament was purged and the nozzle was clean - I printed 4 of these parts on the bed. This is why havening exact matching paint pens for all the colors Bambu offers would be ideal.
