The forum has gone downhill recently.
A toxic culture of name-calling, unhelpful posts, personal attacks and gaslighting by a group of people who backslap each other when they join forces.
The lack of active forum moderation or any enforcement of community guidelines is driving people away.
Much of this has been reported and gone without response or even being read by the moderator @JonRaymond.
Some examples, showing zeros, which are the reply counts. None, zero, nada, nought.

I will highlight one incident as the perpetrator decided to double down on their previous attack today.
This user was called out at the time of the first incident to @JonRaymond, who said they (the moderators) were aware of it and were handling it.
What originally happened?
A user publicly called for my imminent death and the death of my friends.
This would get you banned from most platforms and possibly even police intervention.
On this forum, no action was taken, no ban for a short period or a full ban.
I was never provided feedback; the only thing which happened was that the offending message was removed.
What just happened?
Recently, this same user replied to one of my posts as if nothing had happened previously. It seems calling for someone’s death wasn’t memorable at all to that person, sufficient to notice who they were replying to.
I pointed out what they did previously:
Today I received a response.
You may have expected an apology, or you may have thought silence.
Instead, I received a double-down; he blamed me for his calling for my death because I shared my health issues here.

In case it gets edited.
maybe you should not have said anything about your heath all of those times huh? maybe you should understand i don’t care about making friends with you or need any help from you… to me you are another keyboard cowboy looking for validation. stop using your health as a way to deal with your sub par personality and your innate ability to be a hallway moniter. pfftt
The other day, I was gaslit by one user who defended another user who I called out for health. They used the quick tone change after the fact as a way to say it never happened in the first place.
When more than 25% in one case and over 50% in the other react to the things others say with a downvote, something is not right there. These are not people engaging positively.
My Health
For those who do not know, I have health issues. Why did I share those?
I use my health issue to explain why I got into 3D printing, how it has helped me, why it determines my choices and how it limits my capabilities.
I have used it to show the positive effect it has had on my health, likely the reason I am a few months beyond the date I should have left the planet.
When discussing things that are harder for the disabled to do, I have shared specifics about my health. I have had a lot of FOMO as future dates have concerned me, as I can’t assume I will be able to enjoy them. CyberBrick has been one such thing, as I thought that would be something special (I still do, despite all the issues associated with it).
I will not apologise for giving context to my thoughts, in the same way someone (including me) shares their work history that adds context.
Nor will I apologise for providing information about how my disabilities can help change things or give context to those who do not understand how it impacts people, as they do not live with it. Changing nozzles, as an example.
Why didn’t I direct this to @JonRaymond? Because he has decided to respond to issues of toxic behaviour or explain why such behaviour goes without response. You can’t engage with someone who doesn’t engage back.
I imagine this will be taken down.
I can’t imagine airing of this “dirty washing” in public will be politely accepted as “sorry, we should have and will do better”.
I expect the only one to suffer any consequences will be me.
What do I hope will happen?
- The moderators provide an apology for their past failures to act or to even respond
- They block such egregious forum members, including the one called out
- They act on reports of accounts set up solely to attack other users, not just those aimed at me, as they are often targeting many accounts
- To enforce the Forum Guidelines, they say they enforce
https://forum.bambulab.com/guidelines
What do I expect will happen?
- This post will be pulled down.
- Others will downvote this post, often those who set out to attack others
- Those same people will say I deserved it for having a terminal illness
- The moderators will get annoyed because I called them out
- @JonRaymond will retaliate for being called out specifically
- Few if any will add a supporting comment for fear of being targeted by those who need to be removed.
Why am I doing this?
Because new users shouldn’t have to be part of this toxic environment, and moderators should actively moderate, or at least, moderate based on reports.
Information
For those who keep attacking me as if I have done some perceived harm by existing, here are a few of the system stats that say otherwise.
It appears that many people have received my help.
Those who attack are never even close to this level of help provided. Most are new accounts set up solely to attack, joining forces, some are likely the same individuals with multiple accounts using them together to appear as many people.
