Tpu—-oops!

Ok, I must have overlooked the “NO TPU” warning.

The AMS jammed. I found a YouTube vid on a fix. My remaining problem is the remaining TPU filament is jammed in the geared section.

How to get it out without randomly unscrewing until there is access?

I tried TPU 95A and it got stucked, but I could pull it out carefully. Today I tried to print TPU 98A with the AMS (2 colours). It worked fine. I hope I can repeat this without problems, would be realy cool. After printing I removed the TPU out of the AMS to be sure it will not get squeezed while staying to long in the AMS. Door was opened while printing and it was the slow mode.

what brand were you using?

That was Fillamentum Flexfill TPU 98A. But it did not work fine all the time. So I don’ t use it anymore with the AMS.

tpu dose not work on ams

I used Overture standard TPU in the AMS a few times and had no issues but no longer use the AMS for TPU of any kind. It does not cut cleanly and appears to do a sort of cold pull so when its retracts there is a weak spot and a lump. That seemed like I was playing with fire.

Here is how to disassemble the hub and here is the top link for AMS trouble shooting.

paper rolls do not work in ams

Not totaly true. They Work, but build Up dust and can BE to light If getting lighter. If you use adapter and w eight-riser, it works

I use Overture almost exclusively in the AMS. I’m at 810 hours print time now.
The only time an Overture spool doesn’t work from the beginning is when USPS “drop” ships it. I have little to no dust in the AMS and have never cleaned it. I have swapped over to a printed spool if the rim is damaged (maybe 5 spools total) and sometimes (maybe 10% of spools) add a C cell battery when it starts to get too light. I’ve even had to do this with Bambu spools.
I tried the rim adapters in the beginning because everyone said cardboard won’t work, they caused issues until removed. The spools worked fine after removing the adapter.
Overture spools are cardstock, I think there are brands that use corrugated fiber board or what the US usually calls cardboard. I’ve never seen nor used a cardboard spool. I currently have 30+ spools of Overture filament on the shelf right now.
