i had a prob that when printing tpu 90a with an ams ht .it would keep on pulling on the filmant and stretch it out and that is a prob. can it be that every couple of minuts it would spin the role . on an a1
You’ve described (I thiiiiiink??) exactly what the TPU assist does. Put your filament into an HT, feed it through the open hole in the back, and feed it into the TPU assist.

The only TPU that should be gong through the AMS is TPU for AMS. all others will give you a headache
so then what was the point of the ams ht. and how will u print tpu. and keep it dry at the same time? or mby i don’t under stand the ams ht enough
The AMS HT is one slot AMS Pro with a higher temp drying. I think it also handles filaments with additives better. So TPU needs to be dry, you spend 18 hours in the dryer to then put it on an external spool. It will soak up moisture just sitting there. With the HT, and especially with the new TPU feeder, I can dry 85a in the dryer, put the filament through the bypass, turn on the dry feature, feed to the TPU feeder module and print 85a perfectly without opening the top, and negating the point of a sealed chamber. This gives me the potential of printing ABS and 85a in the same print. Hard external, soft internal. Basically I can print a Cadbury Cream Egg ![]()
The HT has a specific outlet for TPU on the top of the door. You are going to give up feeding beyond the extruder pulling, so you have to do a manual load. It’s meant to skip the PTFE tube to prevent too much friction.
Now there is a TPU Assist module available.
This would allow you to run out that port on the HT and then have loading and feeding assist. You could can keep the TPU dry.
