Train contest

I am very disappointed of this contest.
We have old models, delivered as new, copy of standard Brio toys, whistles and 5, max 10% original files. The tiny trains are lets say, not very good with combination with normal Ikea, Lidl, Brio trains.
This contest was/is very important for me. Brio trains are the main reason to buy the A1, I was hoping to find and print something new for my boy. Nothing.
Why is so?
No designers? No ideas? No time?

Welcome to the forum! I am not a Brio expert, but:

  1. I already see a lot of nifty designs? Just order by downloads
  2. The contest still has more than a week to go
  3. What kind of innovative designs were you expecting? (Give the designers some inspiration)
  4. And lastly: this can be your time to shine! Watch some tutorials and design something for your boy :slight_smile:

A lot more models will appear until the contest closes and 10% already gives you about 20 worthwhile expansions. Please keep in mind that most designers design for fun and their own hobby, not to please MakerWorld.

But if you have a novel innovative idea that you are missing you might inspire somebody! And an inspired designer is almost unstoppable, so let’s hear it and who knows :smiley:

it is titled as a master challenger…it should have been a train design contest not just a track set for ikea toys!!

The contest is toy track sets. What to do with train designs without tracks and whistles?
Why is master challenge, I don’t know. There are diff in prices or something else?

And the winner list is:
3 models direct copy of brio.
3 models of many rails, which can be found since years.
One turnable old model too with gear and pinion.
For me the suspension rails are new. But only this.
I think, the prices are too low, to attract skillful designers.

You guys should create the kind of stuff you want. It’s a whole other aspect of the hobby and is part of the whole 3d printer thing - if something doesn’t exist you can make it. Get fluent with a design chain and you can make pretty much anything.

I design and make everything I want. But I hoped to find something new, something that I didn’t imagine. I don’t find this.
