Transparent PETG Lamp

Been playing with translucents lately experimenting with clarity and to see what can be achieved. I decided to design a lamp that could be printed fairly easily in two halves and came up with a lamp similiar in design to a Kartell “Take” lamp.
I experimented with different types of infill and direction of infills. Like most people trying this I found Aligned Rectlinear or Monotonic the best.
You do need patience though, these 2 small parts (approx 130mm x 100mm) took a total of 30hrs! @18mm/s

I think it turned out pretty good. Using Bambu Lab Transparent PETG dried for 12hrs before use.

I don’t have any CAD software and dont know how to use it. This was all modelled in Bambu Studio using primitives. I’m still going to carry on experimenting to see if I can improve it though. Will upload to Makerworld when I’ve finished playing😁

A full sized P1S print bed version would take 4 days for each half. Thats the next mission! Gonna try different orientations on the bed as well to see if there is any improvement.

Could I encourage you to get some cad software, maybe start with Tinkercad, freecad, openscad, cadquery/whatever? If you have the patience to fiddle with the studio primitives, I reckon you’d get to grips with something a bit more complex.
