Is my memory deceiving me or shouldn’t this competition start today?
You need to consider the start date of contests and the date of winner announcements with a large pinch of salt.
Think of them as indicators.
This is based on all previous contests usually started after the announced date and winners the same.
It definitely was. They changed it this morning to the 12th.
Clearly not as essential a travel as first assumed then.

Isn’t this caused by time zones? The start of a contest at noon 10-10-2024 in the USA is a lot later than in Europe for example…
We sincerely apologize for the delay. Currently, all our manpower is allocated to our upcoming update, so the contest will be postponed for two days. Once again, we apologize for the late announcement. Due to limited manpower, some of our recent contests have also experienced delays in announcing the winners. We will do our best to adhere to our original schedules in the future.Thank you for your understanding.

I sure hope all that manpower to push that upcoming update makes makerworld as a better platform than what it is now and finally brings what the official guidelines guide us as restrictive or to uphold community values, specifically the terms bellow
…applying these guidelines equally to all users, regardless of their background, political viewpoint, position, or affiliation.

Well… For example “Magnificent Hometown” ends 11 Oct 2024 UTC+0 and it looks like it means 2024-10-11T23:59:59+00:00. So it’s last second of the day
Maybe for start dates it’s 1st second of the day so it’ll be 2024-10-12T00:00:00+00:00
It’s not an automatic process; I think there’s an employee who manually clicks a button to start a new contest, so the timing can vary.
But to my great surprise, yesterday I was contacted by MW to create the Travel Case contest banner. So luckily, we should see it up and running today!

It is designed to hold snacks, sauce, and drinks in your car and all you need is a cup holder to put it into. I designed it because I know that it is a nightmare trying to eat and drink on a road trip without spilling anything.
