Tree support bug printing mid air (Cone shapes)

I think i’ve found a bug that caused my print fail 2 times.
If “to be supported” model part is cone shaped (with pointy side facing down) and the “tree support branch diameter” option i set to bigger diameter than cone vertex - then Bambu studio will create a G-code where the cone is printed inside the “trunk” mid-air.
Got this on The nobody thinker model.
See attached pictures.

Welcome to the forum.

I left my supports unchanged and this was my result on the support.

Granted this on a X1 but this is with Bambu Studio.

Change tree support branch diameter and You’ll probably get the same bug.
Look at first layers of his “bottom”

I don’t see a reason to change that parameter in support.

Have you tried a less aggressive number to see if it will print ok?

the original support form makerworld “nobody the thinker” profile is to small, You can find failed prints pictures in comment section. Mine also failed, so i thought getting them bigger will help.
Well nevermind beacuse that profile doesn’t matter at this time. What matter is potential bug in software, that needs to be corrected.

Bambu lab has a website on github. You can write about your bug in the Bambu Studio section.

Got reply on GitHub. They are aware of this bug, but it won’t be fixed any soon. We should just go aorund it (for example with pattern filled supports)

Hey thats good to know that they are working on this bug. At least you know to stay away from it. So it doesn’t waste your time and material.
