Tree supports falling over on 2 X1C printers

Hi. have had a flurry of failed prints caused by the tree supports falling over. I have tried making the brim of the tree support wider. I have been very careful with the orientation of the print. BUT the support still falls over,. Have attached some photos of the latest faliure.

Would welcome any guidance. I have recalibrated both printers, changed the filament. I sam using Bambu filament but all of a sudden I am getting a lot more failed prints due to this issue.

Josh

Hi,

Calibrated again and tried the print in a different orientation but same result. The can see the base of the support just broke away. I have increased the numbers of the walls of the support. Also why do they look so rough? Any help appreciated.

Quick update. tried the same models but with normal supports and they completed successfully. Would prefer to use tree. Anyone else having issues since latest software / firmware update?

Josh

I don’t think increasing wall thickness will help if the supports are breaking loose at the plate.

You might try reducing the brim-object gap:

I’m too much of a noob to say exactly why your prints are so rough, but 90% of my print problems disappear after I calibrate my filament with OrcaSlicer.

The calibrations in Studio 1.7 might work as well, but I am waiting for them to stop sending out bug fixes every couple of days before I risk using it.

Just for reference of my printed tree supports.

The only time i can remember knocking over a tree support was from a dirty build plate. It solwly warped up and the nozzle hit it. I use the high temp plate.

thanks. Clearly I have a problem. Will tighten the belts and try again

HI

pls could you share your support settings.

Thanks

I usually pick tree auto, then tree strong.

Z top distance, i change to 0.25
Top interface layers change to 3

Thats it!

OEM Printer profile and ABS OEM profile. If i was printing PLA I would do the same.
