I have a lot of issues with my printer connecting to the internet. And then i cannot access it through Handy while I’m at work.
Every time the slicer/LCD says that there is no connection, i go to the “Network” tab and everything is fine.
Anyone else having issues?
In the slicer under the help menu is a network test you can run.

When you’re at work, is your phone set to the company WiFi or are you using cellular data?
I haven’t had any major networking issues. On occasion the connection between Bambu Studio and the X1C has dropped out, but only for a few seconds.
When I’m at home the printer/studio is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.
When I walk over to the printer and open the network screen, it refreshes the available Networks ( everyone else in my apartment building) and stays on mine and everything is fine until it disconnects again.
All I ever have to do is just open that Network screen and that takes care of it.
I’m just not sure why it won’t stay connected.
AMPAK is the maker of the WiFi SoC on the printer. I’ve never heard of them before, you more commonly see Broadcom or Realtek WiFi SoCs in embedded devices. Could be a compatibility issue with your access point?
Hopefully a new firmware update will fix it. Could also check your WiFi access point and make sure it’s on the latest firmware?
According to BBL, they designed it not to stay connected because their cloud fees would cost more.
Have you tried logging out of everything including the printer then logging back in again? This seems to reset some type of token or association that has fixed other users, especially after a firmware update and after a recent cloud outage that some have speculated might have caused corruption of user info.
For your home network, is the printer on a guest or IoT type isolated network or on the same network segment as your computer running Bambu Studio? I have seen intermittent connections when the printer is on a partially isolated network where the primary vlan can talk to guest vlan but guest has no allowed reciprocal traffic back.
For Bambu Handy at work, make sure you are on cellular data and not your company’s wifi - all kinds of enterprise network security can play havoc like filtering rules and SSL decryption/inspection.
All of these connection issues started on April.
That was when i hooked a monitor up to my laptop. Rather than putting the laptop to sleep or shutting it down like i had before, I’ve been keeping it closed (no dust) and just using the external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. So it was always on.
When i left for work today i closed bambu studio and have been able to access the p printer via bambu handy all day.
I think that bambu Studio was the problem.
interesting point. I have never seen information like this from discussions of the printers. do you have any reference to the bbl officials?
I think it’s a good design to save both server bandwidth and printer idle power, but it would be nice to have a function to wake the printer up through network.
