Trouble with printed supports not breaking away

Hey folks,

I have slanted (7 degrees) but planer bottom layers with supports needed underneath.

I have no problems with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.28mm layer height using PLA.

My problem is with 0.6mm nozzle and 0.3mm to 0.42mm layer height. The supports are welded to the piece.

Any suggestions on what to tweak in Studio to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Stu

Hi Stu,

Is the .6 PLA filament also ?

I have not had time to test the .6 on the Bambu lab yet.

Maybe slow it way down so you can get more cooling time on the lower support layer.

Drop all speeds down so you can lower the nozzle temp.

Can you cut your part and use connectors ?

Do you have an AMS? If so you might want to use interface layers with petg or pva.

Keep us updated :v:

You need to increase the top interface spacing. The is the gap between where the support touches the overhang. Try adding 0.5 - 1mm to the current setting.

Thanks,
I’ll try decreasing the temp a little.

Thanks, RMB!!!
That’s what I needed to know! I’ll give it a try.
Best!

I just looked @ Bambu lab .6 profiles and the top support gap is set to 0.2

I noticed that as well. Go figure. Time to tweak, LOL!
