Turbine Fan Modification

Is a skilled creator able to craft a file to print something similar to this for the P2S? Thank you.

I

I’m going to suggest this isn’t a good idea on the P2S.

On the A series and the H2S, that wheel is just turning to indicate the extruder gear is turning - moving filament, and it’s a fun little mod that doesn’t impact the printer’s operation.

For the P and X series, the hole in the extruder front cover is your actual air intake for the nozzle tip cooling fan, putting anything over that area is going to reduce free airflow into the fan and ultimately hurt your print quality - worse overhangs, bridges, anything else that depends on cooling working at peak efficiency.

All good points and I appreciate your perspective. Here is another turbine fan cover, compatible with the P1S. I have gone through 13 versions using AI to modify it and have not found success. Although I am studying Fusion 360, I do not yet have the skills to modify this file to make it compatible with the p2S and am hoping someone with way better skills than mine, would be willing to give it a shot.

A lot of people have a lot of stupid mods on MakerWorld, and this is one of them.

Good luck with your project.

Theoretically if such a fan rotates freely it should not have much effect on the airflow.

But in practice the bearings will get jammed with outgassed PETG, or dust, or the thing won’t be printed perfectly, or whatever, and you may experience print quality problems.

Then again, you own the hardware, and every project is a journey to experience, so why not try?

My own experience with this soft of project was when I disassembled a computer case fan to paint the blades, and learned not do that again.

And there are a lot of stupid, disrespectful posts on MakerWorld, and this is one of them. Just move on. There was 0.0 requirement for you to post your derogatory, unhelpful, irrelevant opinion.

Here you go, @ScubaPilot

Let me know if there are any issues.

… I bow to you. [Insert Wayne’s World “We’re not Worthy” GIF here]

I am sure the model is okay, too.

Thanks! I figured what the heck…people are gonna do it regardless, at least I can make it clear in the description that this will impact performance, unlike every other one of these inlet covers…

Printed very well in Bambu Lab PETG black and gray. Looks great. Thank you!
