Any final conclusions about the Elegoo filament?
I decided to do the right thing and build Tom’s filament thickness analyzer. Presently I’m waiting on the PCB’s to arrive from JLCPCB. The total cost for 5 boards, including shipping, is <$5, and it will probably take a month or more to get here.
Sorry I didn’t post an update, but I’ve had no problems with the filament. They probably fixed or upgraded their extrusion lines. The rolls looked neater. Gone through a spool of it so far. If you wanted to save money, this isn’t a bad option. They could’ve cherry picked it though.

Just wanted to let you know this tip saved me. Bought my P1S yesterday and got a couple print off before I went to sleep. I have a desiccant chamber to store filament in so I manually pressed the cutter to get the spool out. Wasn’t fully aware it was a cutter or not intended to be pressed manually. Long story short, extruder gears were grinding this morning, spent the whole morning stressing and trying to figure it out before work, got home and started ripping everything apart to find TWO pieces of filament in the hot end. Was completely lost until I found this and it worked like a charm. Thank you
