On to the meat…
Is there a way in Bambu Studio to hide parts of a model based on color/filament selected?
I have a large multicolor print. When I added to the plate, it assigned the collar as filament 1 in the AMS. I went through and painted the bulk of it in silver, filament 3, with black details, filament 4.
When I started the print and went to bed. This morning I discovered some purple filament in the print.
I went back in to model and, sure enough, there were some purple parts.
I think I got all of them but I want to be sure. If I could somehow only view the purple parts, how would I do that?
This may work, if you have not tried it already:
- Slice the model, then go to the Preview tab.
- In the dropdown for the legend section choose Filament.
- Use the layer slider on the right to inspect each layer and make sure no purple filament is being used where you don’t want it.

That is an excellent idea and I’ll give that a shot when I get home tomorrow!
Thank you!
Let us know how it goes
good luck!
@Mike_Bronner gave you one idea, but, there is an easier way.
When you have sliced the model, look at the legend, each colour that will be used in the final model will have an entry.
If there is no purple in the model, no purple entry will appear.
If there is a purple entry google off all other colours to see where the purple is.
You can turn off the ghost shells of the model being displayed by toggling the preview shells option off in settings (may not be called settings in Windows).
You can toggle different combinations of colours near your purple bits to work out where they appear in your model.

The first thing I did was change the color of the filament from purple to red to make the parts that I want to change stand out more.
So viewing the model in Preview shows me where the parts are but rotating the model to get to them can be tricky.
Getting to those internal parts to due to limitations of the fly-around (or I’m just not that good at flying around yet and need more flight time?) is difficult at best.
Also, when bringing in a new paint, set the default material on Filament 1, not Filament 3.
You might have better luck if you expand the “Objects” tab on the left, and see if you can just switch the items from red to another color?
I found what I think you’re talking about, but I do not see a way to break it down by object (sub-object?) or to change the base the filament.
