Unable to bind printer using Bambu Lab or Bambu Handy

This is probably not helpful, but I had several disabled Certificates on my phone which caused a communication issue between the Handy App and the Bambu backend.

Just going to throw that out there in case it may shed light on why something is not working as intended.

I had manually disabled these certs prior to ownership of the printer, so it was a user error.

Just in case its handy. This is needed after an ap board replacement.

1. When the AP board is replaced, the step of binding the machine should be skipped when it is turned on for the first time;

2. After confirming that the replacement is completed, the printer SN needs to be replaced. So please contact the service team and provide both the new SN and the old SN to complete the SN replacement. (Begins with 00M or 00W)

Alright, I like many ran into the same problems. I use a Ubiquiti setup at home. The only way I was able to get this to work was by connecting a desktop computer to the WiFi, set up a Mobile Hotspot through Windows using 2.4GHz only and connect my phone + my printer (x1 carbon) to that.

Not sure if anybody mentioned already, but i tried the hotspot option and mine still wasn’t connecting. Then i checked the hotspot setting and saw that the MAC address type was set to “Randomized MAC” so just in case, I set it to “Phone MAC” and used a tablet to connect through the hotspot to the printer and that did the trick.
I’m not super IT savvy, so I’m not sure if that actually technically fix anything or if it just happened to be the 35th try that it went through :man_shrugging:

I’m getting the same kind of issue but with a different error code. I get “-1020” “Failed to connect socket” when trying to connect from the LAN, and the printer is complaining it cant find the router, and I cant get it to see the Hotspot network from my iPhone, so I cant try that method… I’m using Ubiquity wifi and have quite a lot of control, but I’ve got no visibility into the settings to work out whats wrong with the network settings and what the printer things the router address is, because the IP address doesn’t respond from other computers with any kind of web interface to show more information…

I had a similar problem where the printer was connected to the internet and tested good. But the printer could not see the phone hotspot so I couldn’t bind using that method. After multiple futile attempts at binding, I finally logged into my WiFi router and updated its firmware. After the router rebooted, I powered off the X1C and powered on again. This time binding worked.

I love you so much, this worked for me!
Was going through multiple phones, hotspots, router settings about to toss my machine out the window -.-

Finally, I found the right way to bind. Go to your router and make a Port Forward to the port 3000 TCP to your Printer ip.

Had the same problem today setting up my new P1s. I’ve got a TP-link mesh network with around 60 various 5g and 2.4g devices, disabling 5g for a printer isn’t an option. Was able to add a port forward for port 3002 and that seems to have fixed it.

In my case I was able to adjust the permissions on the phone for the Bambu Handy app.
Go to Me->Settings->Notification Categories->Bambu Handy->Permissions
In 'Not Allowed", click on ‘Nearby Devices’ (may be ‘Local Network’ in some versions of Android)
Click ‘Allow’.
At this point you can return to the Bambu Handy app and you should be able to bind the printer.

I also was not able to bind my printer (P1P).

Eventually I was able to resolve the issue by logging in the administration panel of my router (Asus RT-AX88U) open the Guest Network panel and enable the Access Intranet:

On the one hand, I am happy that I was finally able to bind my printer, but on the other hand, I don’t like that all the devices of the guest network now can access my intranet.

Can you say a lot info about port forwarding? how many ports need to forward?

I am getting the exact same error -1020 failed socket error. I logged out of my Bambulabs account then restarted my computer. I then logged back in and the error is still there. I hope somebody can figure out what the heck is going on with this fail to bind/connect to printer.

I was getting the same error that it was not set up on the same LAN.
Then I went into my phone settings, then the Bambu Handy app and clicked on the “Allow Local Network” boom - it connected!

Try using an android phone. I spent 3 hours trying to connect using my iPhone, and I tried everything on the wiki and on basically every thread I could find. In the end using an android phone worked from the very first time. Probably something to do with the virtual private network of the iPhone. It is possible the Bambu Handy app does not look for the printer on the right network.

Hi I am unable to bind P1S. I am getting the error code - 1080 “Cloud Access Failed…”

I am using an Orbi Pro WIFI mesh router using Verizon 5ghz internet. I am able to bind the printer if I use my hotspot so there has to be something with either the router setting or Verizon.

What I have tried so far:

  • Make sure local network sharing is on
  • Separated my WIFI to 2.4ghz and 5ghz and made sure to connect both the printer and my phone to the 2.4ghz network
  • Forwarded all the ports on bambu’s wiki site to the printer
  • Put the printer IP address on DMZ

Please let know if anyone else have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!
