Unable to FTP into X1C

Hi there,

I have no issues connecting to my X1C from either PC, Mac or iOS on my local network via Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy. All working as expected.

However when using FTP Voyager I am unable to logon to my X1C using the following settings;

Bambu X1C IP Address 192.168.0.194 (Correct IP Address of my X1C)
FTP over TLS (Implicit)
Port 990
Login ID: bblp
Password: LAN Access Code from X1C

Doesn’t matter whether I enable or disable PASV Mode it will not logon.

STATUS> Connecting to 192.168.0.194 on port 990.
STATUS> Connected to 192.168.0.194:990 from 192.168.0.196:63823.
STATUS> Negotiating SSL connection with server…
ERROR> Connection attempt failed. Retrying in 3 seconds…

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Occasionally I see the following usually on the 2nd or 3rd attempt;

||500 OOPS: error:1408A0C1:SSL routines:ssl3_get_client_hello:no shared cipher|

I can ping the X1C, see it in my Network Monitoring Software, have generated a new LAN Access Code on the printer, disabled Windows Firewall and changed some other settings to no avail and short of trying another FTP Client which I am loathe to do as I have used FTP Voyager for many years I am at loss as to why it will not connect.

Have I missed anything fundamental here or is it just a case of FTP Voyager being incompatible with the X1C?

Thanks & kind regards,

I just tried FTP Voyager and had the same lack of results. I used the same settings that you did (which matched what I use with MobaXterm) and failed to connect.

You might want to give MobaXterm a try. I like it because it works with many different types of remote access protocols. I currently use it (with X1Plus) for FTP, SSH, and VNC access to my printer, and for Remote Desktop to two other computers on our LAN.

I’ve also had FTP success with WinSCP.

Try WinSCP and if the implicit FTP won’t work there use SFTP.
Works like a charm here but I also have the SSL stuff disabled for Studio.
Won’t help with FTP connection though, they still come the old fashioned way.

Thanks for the replies guys.

@lkraus Larry; appreciate you taking the time to test FTP Voyager only to return the same non-connection result as me! I remember some time ago I tried WinSCP but ideally I would like the freedom to use both PC & Mac and so would prefer only one learning curve/app interface. In the end the only one that ticked the box seemed to be FileZilla that I had always shied away from due to them bundling other stuff and the bad rep it got. However when I looked on the Mac App Store it was in there so figured it shouldn’t be too bad for Mac at least.

I was surprised to find it was not free but they do give you a 7-day trial so figured I had nothing to lose on the Mac at least before I shell out £12.99 each & every 12 months going forward. :rage:

The good news is that using exactly the same settings as FTP Voyager it connected immediately and displayed the directory structure on the SD card so it was definitely an FTP Voyager issue. Not sure why Solar Winds fails where a ‘freeware’ app succeeds but it wasn’t the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

Something that just occurred to me was I might be using an old version of FTP Voyager as I originally discovered it back in the Windows Home Server days when I was using Serv-U as an FTP Server on the WHS box so I’ll take a look to see what version I am using.

Edit: I’ve just checked and its telling me;
Currently installed version: 16.2.0.328
Current release version: 15.5.0.107
Your installation is up-to-date.
Go figure… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not sure whether I will stay with FileZilla (nor am I sure I will even download it onto the PC yet) but I’ll also take a look at MobaXterm. :+1:

@user_3026326371; as above using FTP over TLS Implicit works as it should under FileZilla and I might well give WinSCP a try. :+1:

Thanks & kind regards,
