Hi all,
I want to share some knowledge that I did not find anywhere on the forums and is not very clear in the wiki. I recently followed the maintenance guide to clean the H2D, and ran into a problem that caused a few hours of headache. The step is to apply lubricate to the left raising rail behind the filament guide. The issue is I could not get the filament guide out no matter what I tried. The machine ran fine. No filament jam, but the filament guide refused to pull free. I knew there was no filament stuck in the guide preventing me from removing the part. This is what all the wikis suggested. That’s when I remembered I had replaced the cutter blades. In the Replace H2D Filament Cutter Lever and Blade guide on the wiki it fails to mention that there’s a notch on the cutter blades and it must face upward. As soon as I flip it right side up and reinstalled the cutter. the Filament guide pulled right out no problem. I did find the tip about the notch being up in a different guide on the wiki. May have been the Extruder Disassembly guide but not certain. BL needs to edit the wiki and clarify these points on several of the step. Another tip is if the Filament guide will not remove simply remove both cutters and it should pull freely. I truly hope this helps someone with the same issue when searching for Filament Guide Removal on the Forum. It’s not always filament that causes it to be stuck. The blade upside down can also impede the guide from pulling out. Time to get back to printing. Good luck!
