Depending on the model size and filament, I usually switch off the print bed heating shortly before the end of the job. This is not only to save electricity, but also to allow the bed to cool down earlier so that the model can be removed more quickly.
At least with all the printers I know, this was possible without any problems. Now, unfortunately, I have noticed with my 2-week-old H2D that after I have switched off the print bed heating manually, under-extrusion occurs immediately. By immediately I mean within seconds. If I switch the heating on again, the under-extrusion also disappears immediately. I have not yet checked whether the actual heating process was still taking place during the switch-off in order to rule out possible voltage peaks. But I can’t imagine this being the cause.
I was totally surprised by this the other day when I just wanted to print a flat surface to see if the surface would print smoothly.
I have never seen this kind of behavior with any printer or operating system. I still have the A1 and X1C, but I’ve never noticed such a bug there.
Can anyone explain to me what the problem might be or has anyone noticed this behavior before?
