Hello all,
I wanted to understand more about the calibrations, and what they pertain to. This is an odd question, so I may not ask it properly, so bear with me.
I understand (pretty much) when to run through calibration as a standard practice, but I am a little confused on how the calibrations are applied.
So, let say I find a cool new filament from an unrecognized vendor (like CC3D), and want to print some fine detail with the 0.2mm nozzle. From the “Prepare” screen I can created a new Custom Filament. I then wanted to run the two calibration routines for this filament, and created a custom preset.
What I found confusing was now there are two User Presets; one that I created from Custom Filament screen, and one I created through Calibration procedure.
So I am getting all muddled in what goes where, and what applies to what.
** Do these User Presets exist independent of each other and created through two different process, but essentially duplicates of each other?
** Do User Presets apply to a particular brand and type of filament (i.e. PLA Silk), or are they as specific as color?
** Do I only need to create a preset the first time I use an unknown/unlisted filament type?
** Are the calibrations and custom filament settings specific to nozzle size (is PLA Basic 0.4mm different than PLA Basic 0.2mm insofar as a preset is concerned)? (this one seems obvious but I wanted to ask to confirm)
I know that’s a convoluted question and topic, so any clarity the community can provide would be helpful. Thank you!
