I have 6 plates, each with 2 layers. When I print them, 3 of the plates PAUSE after the first layer. The other 3 plates print both layers fine without pausing.
For the layer that PAUSE there is nothing evident showing in the Preview tab.
I did slight modifications in the Fusion 360 design and saved as .STEP files. Same thing happens.
The 6 plates contain text and logos from.SVG files, each plate with different color filament…
I don’t know if this is a but in Bambu Studio 1.10.1.50. In the past, with previous versions, I did many similar prints withoout any problems.
Where are these PAUSES coming from?
I have had an A1 since it first became available almost a year ago. It seems to me that the little pauses have always been there. It seems they occur most often after the second layer. I highly suspect that the pauses are an artifact of the failure detection function - almost as if the printer is stopping so that the camera can get a good look at the nozzle
The printer behaves exactly as if i had configured a PAUSE at that layer in the slicer.
I looked at the G-Code in the preview tab, and for the offending plates i can see the word PAUSE and M400.
In Fusion 360 i exported those plates as .STL instead of .STEP and now the word PAUSE and M400 are not there. I didn’t try an actual print. I’ll do that later.
After looking deeper into the issue I determined that the project had some kind of weird corruption:
- As I mentioned in the previous post only the .STEP version of the files added the PAUSE.
- The PAUSE was added only to specific 6 plates out of 11 (plates 4, 6 and 7).
- I added a new, 12th plate with the .STEP version that was on one of the 3 plate offending plate. There was no PAUSE added.
- Finally, I created a new, identical project and this time everything looks OK.
As I said… WEIRD!
