Thoughts? Bambu x1 carbon, sunlu pla, 220 hotend, 55 bed, normal speed, stock settings. All models have come out like this dull on the outside. Maybe bed temp?
Also forgot, it takes up the entire bed surface.
Nozzle temperature affects the surface texture (shiny/dull). You can play with higher or lower print temps, or maybe slow down the print a bit (try printing in “Quiet” mode as an experiment) to see if you can get more uniformity in appearance.
You might also consider doing Linear Advance calibration. The printer tries to do this on its own, but it is rather crude. The SoftFever fork of Bambu Studio exposes this setting and provides calibration prints for it.
Same issues here but I’m printing PETG. The surface finish varies between dull and shiny. The effective extrusion temperature or cooling time seems to be on the cusp of some critical transition temperature and the speed variations make it visible.
Also finding that some of my top surface issues are due to failed infill beneath. Printing any sort of crossing infill pattern with PETG at the default speeds creates an absolute mess inside the part, which then has to get “ironed out” by the top layers.
