I have an unexpected interface layer showing up in my print and I do not know how to get rid of it.
My part does have some openings in the specific layer that might need support, but instead of just adding support to those openings, the entire layer is made of the support material.
Anyone has an idea as to why this could be happening?
I may be missing the info, but I cannot see support from the images.
In the case of support issues, if you are using the automated option, the locations where it is added result from the model and support settings; thus, you may try to edit them to achieve your goal. Without further details, I cannot help with this.
Another option, which I advise in case of support issues, is to use the manual option and paint the regions where you desire
Thanks for the feedback. I did some tests to try to find out what was happening;
Moving the object in bambu did not do anything.
Changing the stl resolution from the native file and import it back in did not make a difference either.
However, Meshmixer found a faulty face in the layer that was causing troubles, which was not detected as an error in Solidoworks (the native file format). This was related to a fillet, so I went to the Solidworks file, changed the fillet size and then re exported to stl.
That fixed it! Iguess that there was a faulty edge or face in Solidworks that went undetected.
I also use SolidWorks as the primary design tool, and I advise avoiding exporting in the STL format, as it is prone to errors.
I only use it with graphic bodies, e.g. with 3D texture.
Exporting a .stp file for solid bodies will produce an accurate 3D model, which is also favourable to the slicer import process.
