Giga Parts an authroized Bambu Lab has removed the price from the store. This could be because the price was incorrect or because the price was correct and Bambu did not want Giga Parts to leak it.

That’s not possible. The difference in price for a laser H2D is $600 for a 10W laser and $1300 for the 40W version. An upgrade kit will necessarily be higher priced than the difference in H2D models.

Even if you take the cutting parts out, it’s only about $150 less.

Just so you are aware none of this is confronation just speculation. The $450 I would believe would only be for the laser. No cutter or pen plotter. You are litterally just getting the laser kit if that makes sense.

My own speculation would be:
10W upgrade kit $800
40W upgrade kit $1500
Cutter only kit: $180

Yeah, these prices do seem to be from authorized resellers. And both of these match up when you do the conversion, so?

Interesting. I would have thought that the laser kit would be $800 but around $500 sounds nice.

As a laser H2D owner I’d be interested to see how they manage the laser protective case parts, ie the green plastic on the retrofit program.

Laser also need the air pump which I don’t think is fitted to the vanilla H2Ds.

It may certainly include the green panels which will upped the price for sure. It is stated in the wiki that the air pump in the upgrade will be a stand-alone one rather than the integrated pump of the laser H2D.

This sounds rather odd purely from a pricing perspective. I was asked to prepay €1300 for an advanced replacement of the laser module. For reference, I have the 40W edition. So if the upgrade is priced lower than that, it seems inconsistent.

The replacement isn’t due to any functional failure of the laser itself, but rather to assembly quality issues from Bambu Lab. Based on my experience, there appears to be a recurring issue with torque inconsistency — several screws across multiple units have either been over-torqued or under-torqued. In this particular case, some components in the laser module were over-torqued during assembly. My AMS (original) also has several screws that were tightened to the point where the underlying plastic has fractured. On my H2D unit, the filament guide contains one screw that no longer engages properly; it simply free-spins in both directions and requires manual extraction.

Just a technical observation.

I don’t think so. To use the laser, it checks if the protective panels and door are mounted.

You also need the fire detection sensors and the birds-eye view camera.

Slightly off topic, what was wrong with your laser? My ten watter worked fine for a few minutes but then got dim and stopped cutting and I’m over ten days in trying to get help from tech support.

I’d love to cross ship one that isn’t broken. I didn’t look at screws, what was it you saw?

The 10W and 40W modules differ slightly, but there was an issue with the air assist coupler, which made it impossible to remove.

However, functionality was not affected.

Have you done cleaning?, a dirty lens is bad for lasers.
