Has anyone seen an update on the rotary laser engraving accessory? They teased it at launch as a future add on, but I haven’t heard about it since then…

I could not wait; got the H2D with everything I could get on it. Now I see that there is supposed to be a rotary attachment (that, as all have pointed out, is non-existent) and BambuLab website shows a fire suppression system, which is also non-existent. For anyone who has run laser engravers and likes to “experiment” like me, this is also a handy thing to have. Wish I did not give up my X1 Carbon, and waited on this H2D. Still is a good machine, just a bummer knowing there are supposed to be more bells and whistles that I could really use.
Still nothing on this? I should of read before buying. I saw it on their site and shows Rotary Attachment with a picture of it!

I don’t have a clue when the rotary add on will drop but recently they did add the promised laser upgrade option and a separate cutter upgrade. So, I believe the rotary add on and the fire suppression system will come, just not sure when.

Also waiting for this since the release date and lowkey disappointed over time. I’m somewhat unwilling to buy an unfinished product regarding the promised features with absolutely no information about release dates or blocking points for that addon… But they find time to release the next machine…

Would you rather them release a half ass product that only works half the time and brakes after a few months or a product that they are confident in and will last through the multiple years this machine will last you this takes time
I’m also waiting for the rotary part, and if Bambu wants to complete it, they’ll also release a 2W IR laser that would be much better suited for metal and plastics.
I hope something else comes along.
Anyone tried using a third party rotary on the H2D? I also share the frustrations that they released a new machine H2S and announced another one without having these accessories released.

@christopherpalomolaw theres no way bambu would allow it to work with their machines. They want you to wait and buy only from them. Same reason why the rfid system was locked down. They could have allowed us to make custom tags. But then we could put them on 3rd party filaments.
Why would you try that? It won’t work anyway, because the rotary device is controlled by the printer, and the firmware needs to be prepared accordingly—which it isn’t currently.
The Bambu Rotary won’t work with other lasers either, because they all have their own control system.

Watching this as well, I wonder how popular the laser feature is? Great for me as an all in one system…. But hard to replace a xtool machine without a rotary device?
I can only guess, but I don’t think Bambu did itself any favors with the laser combo; it’s not a big seller.
I only know of a very few people who have bought the laser combo from forums etc.
I wanted the laser to engrave small parts every now and then, but that will probably only account for 5% of H2D usage at most, so buying an extra laser isn’t worth it.
But today, after using the laser less, I wouldn’t buy the combo again; I’d get an extra laser instead.
It’s a compromise solution, and not a good one either.

As someone who purchased the 40 watt laser its a nice ancillary tool.
I dont have the space for a dedicated laser but every now and then I want to cut some cork to use as padding instead of printing expensive and finicky TPU.
I’m not sure it will see the adoption Bambu hopes, as I feel a good portion of their customer base does not actually model or create unique projects that the laser best assists.

Is it likley that the rotary attachment would be able to work on the H2S as well? i just bought my H2S a few days ago and was kinda bumbed to find out i couldnt do curved cutting with the laser.
you couldn’t do it yet, but you would be do it later on i think. it’s completely not relying on anything hardware that is unique on h2d.
Does the H2S have a 4-pin connector on the inside of the rear left panel, just below the nozzle wiper? Is it a similar connector to the one used for the AMS?
If so, that’s intended for the rotary.
The new BambuSuite can now also machine curved surfaces, which could be a first indication.

I think I have used more cork than anything else so far.
My kids like to collect pins from Disney parks, and being able to engrave corkboards with their favorite designs and then cut out to the shapes they like for display has been a big fraction of the use of the laser on the h2d so far.
