Upgrade Kits for Plotter in a standard H2D

Any Rumour when Bambulab will offer these retrofit Kits to change a standard H2D and make it Plotter/Cutter capable? I am not aiming on the Laser version as the build Volume is to small for my applications.

Nobody knows. We are waiting. The thing is that besides the plotter parts and plates the kit would have to include the bird’s eye view camera that is needed to line things up. That part is rarely mentioned but crucial.

This would be exactly my approach - Cutter for standard H2D

add me to the list who wants the cutter or plotter without the laser , but I’ve seen the birds eye camera on the list of spare , so I think you can now build it from part ?

When the cutting module itself will be available which is not the case yet

Hmmm really? I didn’t know the bird’s eye camera was already available. I’m also wondering if the plotter can be built. The vinyl cutter has been in the shop but then it disappeared.

well ÂŁ44.99 GBP for the birds eye camera , but now says sold out now , but was available early on today .

Please be aware that before you can use the cutter, you must have the laser door, the laser plate, birds eye camera, air assist, AND a laser module installed for laser calibrations. You can’t use the cutter/plotter until after laser calibrations, as I found out when I got the printer

Edit: you may be able to skip air assist, I think that’s a manual check now that I think about it

Yes , very important to have a green laser door for the vinyl cutter ? :joy:

It may well be that for now the firmware only accept the cutter if the full laser/cutter hardware is installed but if bambu wants to offer a cutter kit, I’m fairly sure the firmware will be modified for it to work without the laser hardware installed

For sure, I’m just letting people know in case they wanted to try it with currently available parts or something

Thanks for the insight Leo! Posting here because I’m still curious as to when they will release the upgrade.

I actually had emailed bambu about this and they gave a typical response, I asked: “I am very interested in purchasing the H2D, but I want to be able to use the digital cutter and pen plotter without having to buy the whole laser upgrade kit, because I do not think I will need the laser. I would really like it if you could make a H2D digital cutter and pen plotter upgrade kit or sell it as a combo.”

And they replied : "Thank you for providing valuable feedback and suggestions about our product/service.

Thank you very much for your interest and support of H2D! We are delighted to see your enthusiasm for the digital cutter and pen plotter functions. We fully understand your request, and it is a common desire among many users to be able to choose specific accessories based on their needs, without having to purchase the complete laser upgrade kit.

We will forward your feedback to the relevant team for consideration. While there may not be an immediate solution available, please rest assured that we highly value our users’ input, and we will take this into account as we continue to improve our products and accessories in the future.

Thank you again for sharing your valuable suggestion. Should you have any further questions or requests, please do not hesitate to contact us."

Which to me is basically “we’ll think about it.”.

That was merely a polite “stop annoying us” . Its radio silence after all those months, and at this point im pretty sure the promise for “upgrade” kits, be it full laser or cutter, is just a marketing trick to lure more customers. Bambu seems to have extensivly used this tactic with H2D and its a shame.
